Steirische Klassik

Because each site has a very specific geological and mineral make up, my challenge is to let the character come through in the wines. I do this by letting the grapes ripen on the vine for as long as possible, and through minimal interruption during vinification. Also, the wines are matured slowly and softly in large wooden barrels. I use the varieties Morillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Weißburgunder and Grauburgunder to create these wines; wines that exude their distinct character of origin.

Sauvignon Blanc Kranachberg grosse STK Lage

Sauvignon Blanc finds its perfect soil on the Kranachberg. The wines reveal minerality, leanness and compactness in the nose along with scents of ripe, exotic fruits. And the palate demonstrates the typical Kranachberg character: salty, lean, tightly woven, elegant and with beautiful length.

Grauburgunder Jägerberg erste STK Lage

The nose features aromas of dried herbs, while the palate exudes compact Burgundy fruit. Its tightly-woven structure and elegant softness and spiciness originate in the marly limestone soil of the Jägerberg site.

Morillon Kranachberg

The Morillon nose is a joy: juicy, creamy and aromas of fresh bread. On the palate is a characteristic salty note (the Kranachberg) followed by a long, minerally finish.

Weißburgunder Kranachberg

This wine demonstrates perfectly the characteristic Kranachberg style: minerally, cool, lean, elegant and salty. A no-nonsense Weißburgunder that shows its true greatness after two to three years.
